Message from the RunFest Race Directors

The 2021 Anchorage RunFest is scheduled for August 21 & 22. On behalf of the Race Committee, we promise to produce a professional, organized event. It’s what our participants have come to know and enjoy. We vow to continue our hard-earned reputation by, once again, offering a fantastic Last Frontier experience for everyone – participants, volunteers and sponsors. Anchorage’s awesome surroundings -- mountains, waterways, and wildlife -- fuels our desire to share and continues to inspire our efforts.

*Anchorage RunFest is planning to hold an in-person event, likely with some COVID-19 mitigation protocols in place. Any modifications will depend on the municipal, state, and federal guidelines in place at the time of the event. We don’t know this far out exactly what these modifications will look like, but possible modifications may include: a limited field, scaled-back course support, wave starts, and restrictions at the start and finish. In the unlikely event that we are required to cancel the in-person event, we will hold a virtual race. All participants will be converted to a virtual event and we will not defer racers to 2022.

The goal for our 2021 RunFest is to have a fun and safe event. The health and safety of our participants and community is our top priority.

Our vast experience promises to aid us in moving ahead, adapting and adjusting as necessary. We look forward to a brilliant, competitive, fun, and safe RunFest 2021!

We will keep you informed as we proceed to race day.

Welcome to Anchorage RunFest, the largest event and main fundraiser for the Anchorage Running Club, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. This event will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 and Sunday, August 22, 2021.
