Spike Policy
The only acceptable spikes allowed on the Armory track surface are 1/4 inch pyramid spikes or 1/4 inch Christmas trees. No pin and needle spikes allowed. All spikes must be checked prior to competition. For the complete Spike Policy at The Armory, please visit: http://armory.tf/SpikePolicy
Please note that all information regarding our COVID-19 protocols may change at any time, as more information becomes available.
Facility Information
All athletes and staff must enter through The Armory’s main entrance on Fort Washington Avenue. Athletes will not be admitted unless they are scheduled for their event within 60 minutes.
Only athletes that are competing and event staff will be allowed into the facility. No spectators will be permitted to enter the facility!
Each person’s temperature will be checked in the lobby. If your temperature is above 100.4°, you will be denied entry to the facility. You will also be denied entry if any of the following exists:
Once you have passed the screening in the lobby, you should proceed to the fourth floor and sit in your assigned seats in the stands. Packets will be available for pickup on the way up to the fourth floor.
Everyone must wear a mask at all times inside the facility, except while actively competing.
Everyone must socially distance themselves and keep six (6) feet away from others inside the facility.
All stairways and walkways will be unidirectional. Please strictly adhere to signs.
Hand sanitizers are available throughout the facility.
Restrooms will be open for athletes.
Once you are done competing, you’ll be asked to collect your belongings and leave the facility through the exit door by the shot put cage on the third floor as soon as possible. If you are competing in multiple events, you’ll be asked to leave the facility unless your next event is starting within an hour. You may re-enter the facility when it is one hour before your next scheduled event.
Running Event Information
There will be no warming up inside The Armory. All warming up should take place across the street from The Armory entrance at the Haven pedestrian plaza or outside on the sidewalk. You may go back outside to warm up. Please have your bib on prior to going outside - that will be your ticket to get back in the building.
Clerking for all running events will be done on the apron outside the track along the first turn (underneath the Virginia C. Fields Scoreboard).
All athletes should not enter the clerking area until called for their event, about fifteen (15) minutes before their scheduled event.
Because all events will be seeded prior to competition, every athlete must remember what heat and what lane they will be in.
All running events will be FAT timed.
Starting blocks will be allowed and sanitized after each heat. No outside starting blocks will be allowed into the facility.
Oval races will have athletes starting and finishing at different ends of the track. They will be seeded so that no one starting from the different starting lines should be passed while competing.
Competitors will enter the track at the start/finish line before the first turn on the track (near the timing booth) and go to their lanes at their respective starting line. Competitors will exit the track at the start/finish line before the second turn on the track (near the throwing cage). Once an athlete has completed their heat they will be required to place a face covering over their nose and mouth.
Absolutely no spitting, nose blowing or other similar action will be permitted in any capacity including in or around garbage cans within the facility.
The NYS Department of Health has issued a travel advisory, in conjunction with Connecticut and New Jersey, to help stop the spread of COVID-19. If your state or territory is on this travel advisory list fourteen (14) days prior to the event, you will not be permitted to compete.
Based upon Governor Cuomo’s Executive Order 205, the following states and territories (updated 9/22/2020) meet the criteria for required quarantine: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Guam, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
