Short review
The Mistletoe Run is a great way to start the holiday season! Our Mistletoe 5K runners travel through Winston-Salem’s beautiful Buena Vista neighborhood, while the half marathon course will continue through the Graylyn International Conference Center, Reynolda House and Gardens, through Reynolda Village, onto Wake Forest University’s campus, then circle back around to the William G. White, Jr. Family YMCA.
Virtual participants can choose to run/walk the actual route of the event (Half, 5K, or 1 mile - just not on Dec 4 as that is the in-person event) or you can complete the distance from anywhere you choose.
Our Cause
At the Y, we believe every child deserves access to a quality education — no matter the circumstances. COVID-19 has challenged some families' ability to secure a safe space for their children to learn virtually during the school day while parents have to leave the home to work. The Y's E-Learning Academies offer that safe, enriching space for students to do their schoolwork with Y staff there to assist them. Plus, kids have access to programs at the Y when their schoolwork is done, such as arts, hobbies, fitness activities, athletic training, leadership development, swimming, and more! Funds from this year's YMCA Mistletoe Run help provide financial assistance so all families have the option to enroll their children in an E-Learning Academy.
The Mistletoe Half Marathon, 5K, and Fun Run is presented by the law firm of Bell, Davis & Pitt.
