Why a mission?

This is more than a virtual race. This is an immersive experience with a life-changing purpose.

This virtual experience begins November 1st and concludes on the same week as the 250 mile - Mission1Race: The Journey 2021 (December 12th - December 19th), the multi-day ultra-marathon event.  However, The Mission1Race Virtual Experience brings that epic experience, expands the accessibility to everyone and adds powerful, thought provoking weekly reflections to unify our hearts as well.  The entire experience is 8 weeks with the first two weeks being dedicated to just the reflections. Register today, take on the challenge. 

Here are the options: 

Running: 42 days of running approximately 6 miles per day equaling 250 miles total. (The same distance as the signature event M1R:The Journey 2021)

Walking: 42 days of walking 42 minutes per day at  whatever distance your ability allows.

All Abilities Activity: Any activity of your choice or ability for 42 minutes per day for 42 days. (writing, reading, posting, biking, creating or other)

Anyone can join, there is an activity for everyone! 

This unique experience is part of Mission1Race (M1R) which is a movement and non-profit organization that created Mission1Race: The Journey and ultimately seeks to abolish inequality while celebrating individuality. As a pastor and church leader in May We Be One, this is a great opportunity to go deeper in the pursuit of racial justice by doing this pilgrimage in community together.

You will receive weekly reflections that are designed to help participants elevate the physical effort into an experience of growth during your personal journey towards oneness. The reflections strategically weave in the 8 principles of Mission1Race. During the first 2 weeks of The Pilgrimage there are no distance challenges to complete. It is a time of reflection and preparation. Weeks 3 through 8 will include weekly reflections and the challenge of your choice; traveling 6 miles a day, 42 minutes a day moving or engaging in some meaningful activity of your choice.

As you complete those distances or activities, each week you will earn badges that recognize your milestones, which could be arriving at each mission or completion of the hours you spent reflecting or completing the activity you choose.
