Short review

The Mean & Green 5 Mile Trail Race will be held on the grass and dirt trails at Holloway Park, a private park in the middle of Lakeland with elite quality cross country courses. This event will be low-key and environmentally friendly. We're going retro with no finisher medals, and awards for male and female overall, masters and grandmasters only. If you will need water for a 5-mile race, please bring your own bottle.  Due to COVID-19, bottled water will be provided at the end of the race only.  With your help, we can host an event with minimal trash going to the landfill. For your effort, you'll receive a snack and a 50/50 blend long sleeve unisex T.

The race will be chip timed.

Our Safety Protocol
Holloway has an expansive start area, which allows 40 runners, socially distanced, to start together.  Runners will be assigned to a specific wave, and for results to be accurate, runners must start with their assigned wave. There will be a very short delay between waves. Everyone must be prepared to start at 8:00 AM. Signs and volunteers will assist you on race day to line up in your wave staging area.

This event expands the LRC lineup of races to include trail running and will be held during Florida’s cool season.  The Mean & Green 5 Mile Trail Race supports Holloway Park and cross country running in Polk County.

The first Mean & Green 5-Mile race was held on January 18, 2020.
