Honoring our Heroes 5k Virtual Race 2020

Short review

More than 2 million Americans serve on active duty or in the reserves today, including some of our own Associates. Honoring Our Heroes is our way of saying thank you to our active duty service members and our nation's 23 million veterans. Working together, The Kroger Co. Family of Stores and the USO stand behind our nation’s military community. Our stores have raised more than $23 million since 2010 to help support USO programs - the largest cumulative gift to the USO in its nearly 75 year history.

Course Map

It is just a few days before the Honoring our Heroes 5K.  Thanks for being a participant!  The weather is looking great for the event.  Here is some important information for you regarding the race.

 

Start time

The 5K starts at 9:00 and the Kids’ run starts at 10:00.  The ceremony starts at 8:15. If you are a veteran, it is highly recommended that you be there by 8:30 so we can recognize you.  No registration is needed for the Kids’ Run.

Additional parking

Besides having parking at the race location, there is plenty of overflow parking at the SGS parking lot, 535 Wilmer Ave. which is about ½ mile south of our race location.  There will be signs and a shuttle to transport those who park there.

Care package donations

General Electric will be collecting donations at the race for care packages to send to our troops who will be deployed over the July 4 holiday.  All race participants are encouraged to bring something to donate.  The list of items that are in highest demand are located here.  You can purchase them online or bring them to the race.

Register at the race

Race registration can take place right up until start time including at the race using either credit card or cash.  It is best to register in advance here but know that we can accommodate runners and walkers right up until the start.

Race medals to all finishers:

Every 5K finisher will receive this military dog tag style finisher’s medal.  Top 3 male and female runners will receive an additional top finisher medal and a gift card from Fleet Feet!  Kids Fun Run participants (distance varies by age from approximately 30 yards to 150 yards) will receive a Fun Run medal!  No registration is needed for the Kids’ Run.
