Short review

Was your Valentine’s Day underwhelming? Was it not the romantic night of your dreams? Then it’s time to put down the ice cream, turn off Netflix, and get back out there to meet new people! Put your best running clothes on and head on over to the Samoset for the second annual Heartbreaker 5K presented by the Samoset on February 23rd. Registration starts at 9am. The race starts at 10am.

This is a 3.1-mile race, located at the Samoset Resort (220 Warrenton Street, Rockland, ME). Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome!! This 5K is part of the 2019 Midcoast Race Series and organized by the local non-profit, One Community Many Voices.

All the funds raised at the Heartbreaker 5K go directly to the 501c3 Non-Profit, One Community Many Voices (www.ocmv.org).   OCMV provides gap funding through a model called: The Art of Good Fellowship – Paying it Forward One Neighbor at a Time. The model creates pathways that meet people where they are to resolve a barrier related to employment/skill building, youth aspirations, elderly independent living, transportation, or well-being as quickly as possible. OCMV is currently collaborating with Hospitality House, MCH, AIO, Rockland and Waldoboro Police Departments, Youthlinks, Knox County Community Health Coalition, Trekkers, Pen Bay YMCA, and The Shields Project. OCMV is a place for these agencies to turn to for simple human solutions to barriers when they have no other means to help an individual that meets the criteria.

The Heartbreaker 5K is open to all and costs $25 on race day or $20 in advance. Please come dressed in your winter running flare! We'll have prizes for the fastest runners, the runner in the middle of the pack, and more!
