Foot Pursuit 5K Trail Race 2024

Short review

Because of the current COVID 19 pandemic will be limiting this event to 400 participants.  We will be utilizing a rolling start.  This will allow runners to start individually or in small groups of associated participants (family member or participants that live together) during designated times.  When registering, participants will be asked to select a 10-minute starting time window between 9:00AM - 9:30AM.  Participants are encouraged to pick up their race packets in advance and to not arrive at the race site more than 15 minutes prior to their starting time window.  Participants may begin their race anytime during the selected time window.  There is a limit of 100 starting positions available for each starting time window and they are available on a first come, first serve basis.  In order to maintain safe distancing and traffic control on the race course participants must start during their selected starting time slot.  If a particular starting time is not available it means it has reached the maximum number of participants for that time slot.  Please do not ask us to make any exceptions, because we will not.  The race course will remain open until 10:30AM.

Each participant’s start time will be recorded as they cross the starting line.  As participants finish, they will receive a text message and/or email with their finishing time.  A list of overall finishing times for all competitors will be continually updated at www.thtiming.com while the race is in progress.   Shortly after 10AM the final race results along with the Overall, Masters, and Age Group awards will be posted.  Awards will be available to be picked up on site from 10:30AM - 11:00AM and then at the Extra Mile Fitness Co., 1330 E. Lincolnway, Valparaiso, IN at noon on race day and during regular business hours for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks all unclaimed merchandise will be donated or recycled

Male / Female:0-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+

Awards:
T-shirts guaranteed to all participants pre-registered before February 24th. Same day registration shirts will be first come first served. Race awards to both overall male and female winners. First three finishers in each age group (male/female) will receive awards.

Police / Fire / Criminal Justice Challenge:
In addition to the open race, there will be a police/fire competition. The Police/Fire/Criminal Justice Challenge takes the top three finishers from their department, combines their finishing times, and uses the total to compete against other departments. Winning department receives bragging rights and a traveling trophy. This also applies to the High School Criminal Justice Programs in Indiana that will be completing against each other. Departments eligible include any department related to Police, Fire and Public Service. (Final determination of qualification goes to the Race Director.)

Race Day Registration and Packet Pick Up:

Online registration will remain open until the start of the race.  **THERE WILL BE NO ONSITE REGISTRATION AVAILABLE.  PARTICIPANTS WISHING TO REGISTER ON RACE DAY SHOULD REGISTER ONLINE BEFORE HEADING TO THE RACE SITE**.  On site packet pick up starts at 7:30AM.  Participants are strongly encourages to pick up their race packets in advance.
