  Fit, Black, and Educated, Inc. JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION VIRTUAL 5K RUN/WALK/BIKE

 

On Saturday, June 19th, 2021, join the We Are Run Series and Fit, Black, and Educated, Inc. for our annual Juneteenth Celebration Virtual 5k run/walk/bike. This event commemorates June 19th, 1865, the date when the last remaining Black American slaves in the Confederacy were emancipated, effectively marking the end of chattel slavery in the United States. Join us from wherever you are to celebrate a new beginning and reflect on this historic day.

Proceeds from registration will directly support the nonprofit, Fit, Black, and Educated, Inc. (FBE) to create programming/events focused on fitness, health and wellness, financial literacy, civic engagement, and Black history for military and civilian families in the San Diego community. Register for the Run/Walk 5kComplete a 5K (3.1 miles) run or walk any time between June 19, 2021 - Aug. 17, 2021... while observing proper social distancing of course!Send us your results on our online form (your confirmation email will include instructions)Post your pics on our Facebook page (optional)

 

TRACKING YOUR RUN/WALK: Participants may track their distance using any Global Positioning System (GPS) fitness device (FitBit, Garmin Vivoactive, Apple Watch, etc.) or phone app (Strava, Map My Run, etc.).

 

RESULTS: After registering, results can be submitted through your RunSignUp registration profile by clicking on "Submit Virtual Results".

 

SHIPPING: Shipping begins June 5th and is free for all USA orders. We are currently not accepting international participants due to high shipping costs and wait times.

*Participants have until August 17th, 2021 to complete the race.
