Great Lakes Bay Animal Society’s 9th Annual Fast & Furriest 5K Run/Walk October 9, 2021 at Midland City Forest, Midland

Run Fur Fun! This event is a 5k Trail Run/Walk.

We are happy to be back in 2021 with two chip timed events this year.  We will have the 5K run/walk without dogs and the 5K run/walk with dogs.   Both of these events will be chip timed with medals for first, second, and third place in male and female categories.  Aid and water stations are positioned along the trail. This is a family-friendly and kid-friendly event and the trail is stroller-friendly. 

We are also happy to add a third event this year.  Because so many people liked the format of the virtual race last year we are going to also offer a virtual challenge format this year.  Sign up for the virtual challenge and run/walk the course in Midland City Forest any time after the timed races start.  We will leave the course set up until 4:00pm on Saturday.  Or run/walk a course of your choice.  Submit your times on our website to share with friends and family.  The virtual challenge event will not be an officially timed event and medals will not be given for places.  Entrants will receive a t-shirt and bandana.  This is a fun challenge for those who want to participate to help our cause. 

Packet pick up and late registration will be at Midland City Forest  --   Friday October 8th 5:00pm - 7:00pm, Saturday October 9, 7:30 am -8:30 for timed race.  Virtual Challenge event registration will be available 7:30 am - 3:00 pm Saturday. 

Runners and walkers are encouraged to bring their canine companions and celebrate the special human-animal bond!  Runners and walkers without dogs are also encouraged to come participate in the fun! Children 6 and under can run/walk for FREE!

Event T-shirts and other goodies for the runners/walkers will be guaranteed to those who register by September 26, 2021. 

All proceeds from this special fundraiser will directly benefit Great Lakes Bay Animal Society’s goal of providing quality care for animals in transition to their forever homes.
