De Soto Grand Parade 5K - 17th Annual 2021

WE ARE HAVING THE RACE!!! (Updated 4/8/21)   Register by midnight April 14th to be sure to get the 2021 edition race shirt! Registrations after April 14 will receive a past event shirt.

Our race depends on the parade so if by chance the parade gets cancelled then this live event will automatically become a virtual event.

The run BEFORE the parade! 75,000+ cheering spectators along beautiful, tree-lined, Manatee Avenue make this a unique 5k experience.

Runners will race an out-and-back course along the route of the Hernando de Soto Historical Society Heritage Festival Grand Parade on Manatee Avenue down to around 37th St W and back to downtown Old Main. This is one of the most spectacular parades in the southeastern United States. The start and finish line are directly in front of O'Bricks Grille. Register by April 14th to guarantee a shirt.

-Awards for overall finishers and all age Group Awards (available for pick-up as results post): Overall, Masters 40+, Grand Masters 50+, Senior Grand Masters 60+, Veteran Grand Masters 70+; 3 deep in age groups 9 & Under, 10-12, 13-15, 16-19 & 5 year age groups 20-24 to 80+
-Premium Shirts (Unisex, Ladies)
-Lots of Parking (3rd/12th Lot, Parking Structures and More)
-Water misters on the course and at the finish line!

After party will be located again at Darwin Brewing Company and Taproom. All runners of age will receive a free craft beer with the special tear off from their bibs. They will have great food and live music so come on out and enjoy!

Your money (after race expenses are deducted) go to support local student running athletes.
