CT Hurricanes Neon Glows Virtual & Live Color Fun Run/Walk 2023

Short review

Neon Glows is back in 2021! After taking a year off in 2020, we are excited to announce that Neon Glows will take place in June 2021!     We have added an IN PERSON DATE: SUNDAY JUNE 20 at 10 AM! This will be a measured 5k distance along the Derby Greenway.  The entrance is at 1 Caroline Street.  It is a beautiful course we are certain you will enjoy! We are very excited to offer this in a traditional race format. There  will be 3 color splash zones along the course.  It should be a great time with music, color and friends. T shirts are guaranteed for all that register by June 1. 

 

Race day protocols: 'Contactless' Shirt pick up.  Your shirt will be waiting on a table in a bag with your name on itStaggered Start: Participants will be asked to spread out behind the start line.  There will be cones to separate each group 6 feet apart, and when it is time to start, you will walk up to the start line and begin.Mask/Distancing: Wear a mask prior to the start of the race.  You can take it off once spread out on the course. Post race, please have your mask with you to put back on after you finish. No Pre/Post race ceremoniesFeel free to socialize, but please spread out in the field or parking lot away from the finish line.   How does the virtual option work? You can have all of the same fun and excitement at a time and place of your choosing.  We encourage you to sign up with friends and family that you can participate with!  After you complete your run/walk you will be able to submit your time on this website.   Be sure to take lots of pictures and share the fun on our facebook page at facebook.com/NeonGlowsColorRun. Virtual participant will receive a race kit containing the race tshirt (size/availability not guaranteed after June 1) and 3 color packets that you can use at the beginning, middle and end of your run or walk.  You can even have some fun in the backyard with the family. The color powder is safe and environmentally friendly, so it can be used anywhere.  It will wash away with the next rain. Race kits will be shipped on June 19.  There will be $5.00 shipping fee or you can select local pickup.  Local pickup will be on Saturday June 26 from 11-12 at Matthies Field (115 Silvermine Road, Seymour CT), or prior to the start of the race on June 20 at the Derby Greenway.

 

This year we are partnering with several local organizations including the Seymour-Oxford Food Bank, Seymour CARES, Shelton High Track and Field, and the Connecticut Hurricanes.  During the signup process, you will be able to select the local group for a portion of the proceeds to be donated to that organization.
