Clinton Township Country Run 2019

Short review

Come join the Clinton Township Country Run as we celebrate our 17th year on Saturday, April 27, 2019!! We have again been chosen by the NJ USA Track and Field organization as the NJ Championship for the 15k race in all divisions. This honor carries great responsibility to USATF and all participants, which we strive to uphold. This event is sanctioned by USA Track & Field. Our 15k and 5k courses have been re-certified in 2017. The Country Run is supported by a 100 person volunteer staff, the majority have been serving for the past 15 years.

 All entrants receive a pre-shrunk, long sleeve t-shirt. Youth and Adult shirts are 100% cotton. This year, the Womens shirt is  100% polyester, 'Performance' style (very soft!). It has a narrower neck band, slightly fitted waist and shorter length than the Adult sizes. 

All races start and finish in Bundt Park just off Route 31 in Clinton Township and include energizing warm-up music by a local Clinton Township DJ. Race 'fuel' includes oranges, bananas, bagels, cream cheese and donuts. The 1 mile race is within the Park boundaries and very flat. This is a great race for family members of every age as all those who cross the finish line receive a medal.

 Several hundred runners participate in the Clinton Township Country Run 5k which is part of the USATF Grand Prix Challenge earning 500 points. The 5K course leaves Bundt Park and loops through local neighborhoods with gentle rolling hills. It includes one water stop at the halfway mark. The fastest runners of the 5k will receive trophies and medals. All runners 14 and under will also receive participation medals. In order to avoid traffic with the 15k, the start time is at 9:10 AM.

 The USATF NJ Championship 15k (9:00 AM) race has upwards of 500 participants. It is scenic with a few rolling hills. The course follows local roads and a wooded trail ( Landsdown Trail) to the town of Clinton and back through Hunterdon County and receives support from Township and neighboring police departments. There are Rest Room facilities mid-way on the course along with five water stops. Top winners of the 15k will receive cash prizes or trophies. Trophies and medals for both the 5k and 15k races will be presented at the Award Ceremony directly following each race. All runners of the15k who are 14 and under will receive participation medals. 

Pre-registration closes at 12 PM (NOON!) on Thursday, April 25, 2019. Proceeds will benefit Clinton Township Parks and Recreation community programs such as Clinton Township Community Day which starts a few hours after the completion of the Country Run.
