Starting May 17, DIPG Awareness Day, 4 guys (Keagan - Kayne's brother, Zach, Robby and Angel Kayne) will ride for 40 days, covering 4,000 miles in a tributary cross-country bicycle ride from California to Florida focused on sharing the life and legacy of Kayne Finley and testimonies of faith while connecting families, children's hospitals, swim teams, schools, organizations and churches to educate about brain tumors for a common cause.
Kayne lived with and battled DIPG (diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma) for one year. Brain cancer is now the leading cause of childhood cancer deaths. DIPG is considered terminal at diagnosis and is the top cause of death from pediatric brain tumors, carrying a poor prognosis with a near 0% chance of survival.
All proceeds from this beneficial program and related events fund research into the deadliest form of childhood brain cancer: DIPG and similar brain tumors.
While there are over 120 different types of childhood brain tumors, DIPG is the most underfunded, the least researched and the most aggressive in children, leaving many families feeling helpless, yet desperate, to get the best medical care for their child. The financial stress of these situations can have long-term effects on families.
The Cannonballs for Kayne Foundation strives to improve the lives of those affected with a childhood brain cancer diagnosis.
It is our belief that each individual can make ripples in the water; together we will MAKE WAVES!
