Short review
The Burning Clover 10k trail run will start and finish at the J M Feltner 4H Camp in London, KY. This challenging course will give you a little taste of everything from a little asphalt to spread out before some single and double track trails with a few rocks and roots thrown in to make you pay attention. From there, you’ll encounter some gravel road and power line cuts as you climb to Frazier’s Knob, the highest point in Laurel County. This race will even include a little twist with a nod to Laz and the Barkley Marathons. At the turn around point, you’ll be faced with a decision. Turn around and head back down to the finish to secure a sweet age group medal OR shimmy up the giant rock to the actual summit of Frazier’s Knob where you will tear out the page of a book that corresponds to your bib number. If you return with this page, you’ll secure yourself an additional prize, but may cost you some valuable time and put your age group medal in jeopardy. The decision is yours. There will be a 3 hour time limit on the race.
This is a cupless race. We want to make sure to leave the trails in the same shape we find them, so going green helps that process. We will have one aid station at the trail head at Conley Rd. It is placed in a manner so you will actually be able to fill up there two times. Any type of bottle is acceptable or camelbak type pack is also acceptable.
Parking and packet pickup will be on site at the 4H camp. The race will begin at 9am and packet pickup will begin at 8 that morning on March 7th.
