Short review

WE ARE GOING VIRTUAL THIS YEAR TO SAVE OUR RECREATION DEPARTMENT!

Due to the continuing uncertainty surrounding the guidelines for COVID-19 we have made the difficult decision to cancel our physical events this year.   We know that this event is an annual event for you and your family and friends, but it is for their safety as well as the safety of our volunteers and staff that we made this decision.  That being said, this event is very important to our Recreation Department as proceeds from this event support our programs.   Without this event, our Recreation Department (and this race) is in jeopardy.   We hope that you will consider to participate virtually.

We are offering a virtual run for the Rock to Pier Run--6 miles. Registration will include a virtual race packet and bib as well as a commemorative t-shirt that will be mailed at the beginning of August.     This event is to be run where you live--in your neighborhood, on your treadmill, in your park.   You can run any time during the month of July--all at once or do a little everyday.  We will be using social media (Facebook-City of Morro Bay Recreation Services and Instagram-morrobayrecreation) to share information, do giveaways, etc.   Use the hashtag-#BWIrun4rec.
