General Race Information

Sign up to participate in the 5th Annual 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk for Brain Injury Awareness! This year's race will be held virtually. All participants that sign up by March 8th, 2021 are guaranteed a race t-shirt, and all others will be offered on a first-come first-served basis. All participants that register by March 15th, 2021 are guaranteed a finisher medal, and all others will be offered on a first-come first-served basis. Participants are encouraged to wear blue (the color for brain injury awareness) or green (the color for traumatic brain injury awareness)! We also encourage you to share your participation using the hashtag #BIA5K2021 on social media.

This event is hosted by the undergraduate student organization Buckeyes Raising Awareness in Neuroscience (BRAIN). All proceeds benefit our NeuroNights program, a joint initiative between The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, The Ohio State University Chronic Brain Injury program, and BRAIN to provide comprehensive communal and wellness support for brain injury survivors. Anyone that signed up for last year's run that was cancelled due to the pandemic will receive a discount code for 20% off of your registration via email.Refer 5 participants to our race, and receive a $10 refund on your registration once they register.Elect to donate the cost of your kit, and receive $5 off of your registrationDuring the registration process, if you donate $10 or more to our cause - you will receive $5 off of your registration. Submitting Your Race Results (5K ONLY):

You may use any run-tracking app (free/paid), however, it must at a minimum include overall run distance, overall run time, and your run date. You will use the Self-Reporting feature on this page. Click "Results -> Submit Virtual Results at the top of the page -> Look yourself up by # OR name -> Submit your Info!" - you must email brain.osu@gmail.com verification of your results in order to compete for placement medals.Please check your emails for more details or reach out to us with any questions!

Receiving Your Kits

While all participants are eligible to receive a kit if they register by the deadlines, you may select to donate the cost of your kit and receive $5 off of the registration price. Shipping is included and offered to all registrants that elect to receive a kit.

Awards/Post-Run

After the run – custom race medals will be awarded to the top male and female overall finishers in each age group. Prizes will also be awarded to our top 5 fundraisers! Age Groups: 18 and under, 19-29, 30-45, and 45+
