Short review
Get ready to run, Birmingham! It’s time to see what we’ve become.
BHM26.2 2021 in Alabama's only fully charitable race series, benefitting Magic Moments and Children's of Alabama on Saturday, October 2 and Sunday, October 3 in downtown Homewood and at Sloss Furnaces. Comprised of a full marathon, half marathon, 10k, 5k and fun run, BHM26.2's race weekend brings exciting courses to Birmingham including a non looping course! With over 2,000 runners, this event is one of Birmingham's most highly attended races with a family-friendly after party for participants and anyone supporting the cause!
Our specialized marathon course is a beautiful run through our city unlike anything you’ve run before. The course showcases Birmingham’s growth, touring downtown, highlighting the new hot spots as well as the traditions the Magic City is known for, before heading into Homewood and Mountain Brook.
Our half marathon will take you on a tour of the up-and-coming areas of Birmingham passing historic landmarks and so much more of Birmingham, Mountain Brook and Homewood.
Runners looking for less mileage are in luck, as BHM26.2 features a 10K, 5K, and Fun Run options.
Our 10k and 5k will take place on Saturday October, 2 in DOWNTOWN HOMEWOOD.
The BHM26.2 fun run is geared towards children and patients who wish to be a part of our race weekend. Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by a registered adult. This event is our only stroller friendly event in our race series.
We also have an after party for everyone to enjoy right after you cross the finish at Sloss Furnace on Sunday! Join us after the race for Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q, live music, a bar, a kids zone, and more! If you ran on Saturday still come on out and enjoy an afternoon of live music and BBQ!
The best part? All proceeds benefit Magic Moments, the only wish-granting organization devoted exclusively to children in Alabama with chronic life-threatening illnesses and Children’s of Alabama. Lace up your shoes and join us October 2nd and 3rd as we run for the children who are chasing a cure.
