UPDATED 4/2/2020: Due to the current COVID-19 public health emergency, the race directors for this event have determined its in the best interest of the community to convert this years Armed Forces Day 5K to a virtual event. Registrants will still receive a t-shirt (May 9th deadline), custom finisher medal (first 150) and velcro patch (first 100). Updated packet pick-up information is listed below. We apologize for the inconvenience of this transition; we were so looking forward to this years event but we believe in doing what's right for the most amount of people.

Support local Veterans by participating in the Armed Forces Day 5K sponsored by SCHOTTS Real Estate Group & RE/MAX Preferred Associates! This is an event aiming to bring military service members, veterans and community supporters together to raise money for two local Veterans programs that work hard to make a difference in their lives. This years event will raise funds for Flag City Honor Flight, as well as the local Toledo chapter for Team Red, White and Blue. The event will take place between Post 468 in Sylvania and Olanders' Fossil and Sylvan Prairie Parks.

Updated 4/2/20: Exciting updates for 2020's race include:

A Ruck option will be available this year, which will include a custom Armed Forces Day 5K Velcro patch!Prizes will be awarded to randomly selected runners who post a picture of themselves on social media (Facebook and Twitter) who tag @SylvaniaPost468 and use the hashtag, #SYLAFD5K (for Sylvania Armed Forces Day 5K).$2 of your registration fee back for every runner who registers through your registration link (ok...this isn't new for 2020 but we wanted to let you know we're bringing it back!).

About our charities:

Flag City Honor Flight is a hub of the National Honor Flight Network, serving Veterans of Findlay, Hancock County and surrounding areas. Flag City Honor Flight is a 100% volunteer-run non-profit organization founded in 2010. The organization relies on volunteers to plan, develop, orchestrate, and implement the entire mission. Flag City Honor Flight’s annual flight takes 80 or more Veterans to Washington at no cost to the Veterans. The organizations goal is to ensure that our nations heroes actually get to visit and experience THEIR memorial if they are willing and able; with top priority given to America’s most senior heroes – survivor’s of World War II, and any Veteran with a terminal illness who wishes to visit THEIR memorial. Team RWB’s mission is to enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity. The Toledo chapter of Team RWB prides itself in offering Veterans and their supporters diverse opportunities throughout the year to socialize and engage in engaging physical activities. Since its charter, the Toledo chapter of Team RWB has continued to grow its offerings of activities with their steady rise in membership.
