Apple Creek 50k participants,
In accordance with the state of Wisconsin memo provided today, 3/12/20, regarding Mass Gatherings Guidance for COVID-19:
(1) Wisconsin Department of Health Services recommends that all non-essential gatherings of 250 or more people be cancelled or postponed statewide to protect Wisconsinites from the spread of COVID-19, particularly those who are most vulnerable to infection or disease
(2) As a nonprofit organization that serves children with suppressed immune systems while in the treatment phase of their cancer battle, it is our duty to protect those we serve. As the memo states, we need to protect those who are most vulnerable, which includes our Snowdrop families.
The global pandemic continues to alter our daily lives, with no end in sight. Therefore, our board has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Apple Creek 50k.
Please know that all registrations were refunded as of 11:40am 3/13. Some participants decided to donate their registration dollars, so they did not receive a refund. Thank you!
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me via my email: brian@snowdropfoundation.org
Thank you all for your understanding and your support. Blessings and health to you and your families.
