Anderson Area YMCA Reindeer Run 2023

Short review

Come join us for our annual Anderson Area YMCA Reindeer Run, Sponsored by Carson's Steak Warehouse. This year, we are providing two ways for you to participate! Join us IN PERSON on December 5th, 2020 for our 1 mile, 5k, or both. Or, participate anywhere, any way you want, from December 4th-6th in our virtual 1 mile and 5k options. Registration includes a festive long sleeve Reindeer Run shirt, and a coupon for a complimentary breakfast item from Chick-Fil-A of Anderson, to be redeemed at any of their locations. 

Holiday headgear and attire is encouraged for this fun, family friendly race.

Pre-registration:

To guarantee your shirt by race day, please register by November 15th, 2020 at 11:59pm. DEADLINE EXTENDED! Order by November 20th at 12pm (noon) to guarantee your shirt by race day.  We will have shirts available for those who register prior to this time available at packet pick-up on December 4th. We will order shirts for any participants registered after November 15th on Monday, December 7th, and will contact you when your shirts are available. 

Packet pick up: 

Packet pick up will be held at the Anderson Area YMCA side entrance facing E. Reed Rd. on Friday, December 4th from 12pm until 7pm, and then resume Saturday morning, December 5th, at 7am. We will be monitoring conditions and adjusting our protocols based on the conditions at race time. Please check your email as we will send out more information the week prior to the event.

Race Day Registration:

All registration, including Race Day Registration, will be conducted through RunSignUp.com. We will not be holding any in-person, face to face race day registration. Please register through RunSignUp.com, and then head to packet pick up to collect your bib.


COVID-19 RACE PROTOCOL & UPDATES (as of 11/28/2020, subject to change as safety measures deem necessary):

We will be utilizing a wave format with a rolling start. You will be lined up in socially distanced rows and will WALK up to the start mats as directed by staff or a volunteer. Results and awards are based on CHIP TIME so your time starts when YOU start over the timing mats and ends when YOU finish over the timing mats. Masks will be required at all times except when you are actually racing. There will be minimal pre-packaged snacks along with water after the finish line. There will not be an awards ceremony on site. All awards will be available at the YMCA the week following the race. An email with more details will be sent the week of the race to all registered participants.
