30th Annual Independent Living 5K Run & Roll 2020

Short review

Our 30th Annual 5K starts at the Jordan River Trailhead Park (1021 W  2320 S). Day of race registration begins at 8:30 am and the race begins at 9:30 am. There are men and women divisions for running and for walking as well three "wheelchair" divisions - a manual, unassisted wheelchair division, a motorized or assisted wheelchair division, and a Handcycle division. Each of these adult wheelchair divisions include all ages as well as both men and women. The 3 best times in each of the 7 race divisions (women and men running, women and men walking, a handcycle and the 2 wheelchair divisions) will receive a medal. For paid adult racers, there is also a drawing for a Tablet. (You must be present to win.) In addition, there are two Child Categories for children 11 years of age and under: one category for Child-Runners/Walkers and one for all Child participants who use Wheelchairs. Both girls and boys race together in each of those two categories. Following awarding the medals, there are prize drawings which include everyone present (ie, racers, spectators, volunteers, etc.) but you must be present to win. Cost: $20 pre-registration - $25 at the race and $10 for the two child categories. Partial Scholarship available upon request. This race is a benefit for the Utah Independent Living Center, a non-residential, not-for-profit agency which assists persons of all ages and disabilities increase their independence at home and in the community.
