2021 Ashland Monster Dash VIRTUAL Run for Education 2021

The 13th annual Monster Dash Run for Education can be run either in-person race OR VIRTUALLY - either way it's going to be awesome! 

The race profits support grants in the Ashland Public Schools -- through the Ashland Schools Foundation (ASF). In 2020-21, ASF provided over $170,000 in grant support, awarding more grants than ever in our 30 year history to our local public schools. Now, we're counting on YOU (and your family, and friends, and neighbors...) to register and ensure this year's Monster Dash is bigger than ever!

This year's Virtual event will feature the usual 1-mile, 5K, and 10K race options - but the race course will be up to you! And while virtual racers won't be eligible for race-time prize awards (there's just no way to verify times), there are plenty of online contests you can enter to win prizes. 

We're partnering with Treehouse Books for fun Halloween activities all month long, and on our Facebook/Instagram pages will be providing some Monster Training Tips for your kids to get in shape for the big race. We'll have Costume Contests that racers (and your pets!) can enter by sharing costume photos, plus photo and video contests! So what's the best way to get the most fun out of a VIRTUAL RACE? We're recommending you create your own MINI-MONSTER DASH event! Gather your friends and family (possibly masked and socially distant, of course!) and plan an awesome, safe event. And we want to help! We've putting together mini-gathering ideas on the website, and we'll provide all youth registrants with a Monster Dash Fun Packet. The packet includes:

A free science kit or a realistic Wildlife Wow animal from Blue Marble! You'll be able to choose from several offerings at Packet Pickups on a first-come availability - check them out on the website. (Kits for ages 6 and older, Animals age 3 and up - while supplies last)

A race bibA finisher's medalA "make your own" finish line with orange and black crepe paper A Halloween coloring and other activities for kids bookSmall Halloween knick-knack toysAnd of course, a small trick-o-treat bag of candy!

Adult packets will also include crepe paper streamer finish line, race bib and finisher's medal (provided by Today's Dentistry) for you to wear at your own finish line. Bonus - we still have a limited supply of assorted hats for adults from Sunday Afternoons from past events. They will be available only at the local Ashland Packet Pickups until they're gone. (Virtual Packet Pickups will be drive-thru events at a local Ashland school on Oct 22 and 29. See details HERE) If you're located outside of the Ashland area, we will ship you your packet. It may take a week or so to arrive, so register early! We'll begin shipping packets October 13.

We've kept our registration prices the same as our in-person races - this makes it easier to switch between the live and virtual events (yes you can switch!). Remember, this is a fundraiser for our local schools! We're happy to offer you a virtual race option, and we appreciate your willingness to pay the entrance fee to create your own race and join the contests. If you're able, you can also throw in a few extra bucks on the donation page. Lastly, scholarships are available for families who need financial help.
