Toad Suck Daze Postponed
Due to the postponement of the annual Toad Suck Daze festival in Conway due to the COVID-19 virus, the 2021 Toad Suck Daze 10K/5K Run has also been cancelled. . As soon as we know more information, we will post it on race page located at www.toadsuckrun.com.
Registration will remain open, and all current registrations will be applied and honored to the rescheduled race date.
The Toad Suck 10K was started by the Conway Kiwanis Club in 1982 and run in conjunction with the Toad Suck Daze Festival. In 1984, First National Bank (now Regions) began a race in memory of a fellow employee, Randy Baker, who died of cancer. The Randy Baker 8K was conducted for two years, with proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society. In 1986, the Conway Kiwanis Club approached Regions Bank, and the two races were combined. The annual Toad Suck Daze Run is held in memory of Randy Baker, with proceeds benefiting non-profit agencies supporting children in the Faulkner County community. The 2020 recipients include: Boys and Girls Club of Faulkner County, CAPCA, Children's Advocacy Alliance, Community Connections, Community Service Inc, HAVEN, Main Stage Education Series at Reynolds Performance Hall, and Milestone Services Inc.
Today, the Run includes both a 10K and a 5K Run/Walk, a Wheelchair event, a Tadpole Trot for children aged 4-12. Since its inception, the run has contributed over $400,000 to local non-profits, and the Run strives to increase its contributions to the Faulkner County community each year.
