 Covid 19 Update 5.8.2020

The Race Committee for this years Lake Escape race and has made a definitive decision regarding this years race on June 20, 2020. Jim Shearl who is head of the recreational board writes.....”Today the LIA Race Committee decided to cancel the Lake Escape Races scheduled for June 20, 2020. We do plan to schedule another race in 2021 probably keeping it as a mid-June event. We regret having to cancel. We will refund money to those already entered.”
The plan is to send out checks to those are currently registered. They will be coming directly from

This is our third year which showcases a 10k and 5K on Bayles and Lake Iroquois, and a Kids 1k Run on Lake Iroquois in Loda, IL . We had close to 139 registrations last year which includes runners, walkers, and a kids run. We anticipate 150 or more this year. For your registrations you will receive a Lake Escape shirt, finishers medals for all registrations for 10k and 5k . Overall male and female 10k and 5k awards will be given out as well as awards for Top Male and Female Winners for both 10k and 5k. Age bracket award winners for the following age groups:0-14, 15- 19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59,60-69, and 70+. A raffle of sponsor donations will be awarded to those participants who stay for the awards ceremony via bib # . Winners must be present. We are having Second Wind Running Club Chip Timing . Last years race supported restocking of bass, catfish, walleye, and red ear sunfish to the 2018 levels. 4000 fish were restocked to this lake because of this . Donations are certainly accepted as well as sponsorship.
